It's Back To School Part 1

Good Morning Parents

It's that fantastic time of year!

No more will we hear, "I'm bored", "I like my room this dirty", " I hate chores"!

They are going back! That's right! We get to do the dance of the FREE! The sun will seem brighter, food will become ambrosia and our other half might become attractive again.

Before we start the dance of joy, I have come by to rain, no, sprinkle on the parade just a little. A few things as responsible parents must be done, then we can proceed with the "twist and shout" with total abandon for at least 2.3 hours of the day! Sorry, I forgot about breakfast clean-up. It's actually 1.5 hours!

All fun aside, we have RESPONSILBITIES to make sure our kids are safe. Schools don't lose kids, PARENTS do by not educating their kids. Please. If nothing else, "THE SECRET CODE WORD" must be taught. Responsible Parents Must:

  1. Ask for a copy of the schools emergency policies-in a emergency, where will the the children be located, when and where will children and parents be united

  2. Make sure every piece of information on your child's information record is correct, contacts, Dr.'s, Parent's cell, work and home numbers, allergies, meds and etc, etc...

  3. Print off 2 copies of the Street Smart Kidz Free I.D.Kit, fill them out and give the School one copy and put the other copy in a safe place in your home.

  4. Never put your child's name on the outside of any clothing or possessions

  5. If anyone, in the entire world, no matter who they are, Aunt, Babysitter, brother-in-law, neighbour, Grand-Parent, doesn't know the "CODE WORD", your child should be told to run immediately to the School Office"

Much more to follow next week as we will discuss first day jitters, bullies and scary looking teachers, and the making of best friends, some of who become life friends. I miss my K friends! I have never forgot them, neither will your wonderful children.
