"For Parents Only"  - MOM & DAD'S SAFETY TIPS

It's coming up to that time of year where all parents are going to feel the stress of the Holiday Season. This year will be tougher than  most. Tough time's, unemployment, dollars not stretching yet somehow  the Toy Companies can still tell our kids "how much they NEED this toy" or "that toy" to be cool. The ad's have already started, and the  pressure begins.

The next two weeks at Street Smart Kidz, we are going to talk to the parents. You are important as well. You are important because you are  the life blood, the care giver, the example your children will hold  themselves up to. Your kids' ENTIRE world. You have to take care of  yourselves! You are needed more than you will ever know. Just like  your parents were/are to you.

We will spend two weeks together talking about adult safety!

You can pick and choose what YOU, as the parent, decide to share  with your kids or when to share it. Your call. Our Web Designer, the "VERY BEST" in Canada , will designate this weeks and next as "places"  not to go to without parental permission. You will still be able to  let or encourage your kids to visit Street Smart Kidz. Just tell them to  not enter a page with a "For Parents Only" HIGH LIGHT!

MOM & DAD'S SAFETY TIPS

  1. If a mugger demands your purse/wallet DO NOT HAND IT TO HIM/HER!!  Act terrified and scared, ( you will be ) and throw it! 83% of the  time, the mugger will go for the cash. RUN LIKE YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON  IT THE OTHER DIRECTION!

  2. In a parking garage always take the Elevator. Stairwells are a  horrible place to be alone, and the PERFECT crime spot.

  3. The Elbow is the strongest point of your body! If you are close enough, use it, use it, use it! With ALL of your strength

  4. If you are ever thrown in the trunk of a car, kick out the back  tail lights and stick your arm through the hole and start waving like  crazy! The driver won't see you, but every body else will. THIS HAS  SAVED COUNTLESS LIVES!! You will be able to see a instructional video  on this at streetsmartkidz.ca , in the next few weeks.

  5. We all KNOW, and I mean KNOW, Women are more intelligent than Men!  Just ask my wife, daughter, dog, gerbil and Executive Counsel to  Street Smart Kidz. I get it!! So I can now say the following. Some women have a tendency to get in their cars after shopping, eating, working  etc., and stop to update the cheque book, make a list, , look a something they just purchased etc. DON'T DO THIS !  A predator could be watching you, and this allows him the perfect opportunity to get in the passenger side, pull a weapon and say "drive"!

  6. As soon as you get in the car, "LOCK THE DOOR'S, and LEAVE"

  7. If someone is ever in your car with a WEAPON, DO NOT DRIVE OFF!!!  Repeat, DO NOT DRIVE OFF!!! Gun the engine and speed into ANYTHING!!! Wreck the car. Your air bag will save you. If the predator is in the back seat, they will get the worst of the impact. Upon impact, bail  and run. Don't accept your fate in this situation. Don't be found in a  field.
